I used to apply my regular daily moisturizer before bedtime, so this was actually the first sleeping mask that I’ve tried. My expectations were pretty high – I wanted it to be more moisturizing and nourishing than my regular face cream. I have to admit that at some point, when I didn’t have my hand moisturizer at hand (you see what I did here?), I used COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Mask instead! That was the time when my hands very dry and chapped (way dried than my face), so I had to use quite a lot of this cream to soothe my thirsty skin. However some sulfates are so good at their job, they can wash off your skin’s own natural oils that keep it moisturised and protected which can lead to dryness and irritation. If I use a regular moisturizer it absorbs really nicely on my skin. I wouldn’t apply a sleeping mask directly before I go to bed. Due to that it takes a little longer for it to absorb you need to plan a little bit ahead. So an hour before bed does make a huge difference.

Allantoin is another key ingredient in this product which claims to be a super common soothing ingredient that also softens and protects the skin, whilst also promoting wound healing.
