About this deal

The Alesis Nitro Mesh now sits atop the throne as the perfect introductory kit. The mesh heads offered us a far more realistic playing experience than traditional rubber pads, and we found they're also quieter to the touch. This alone makes this kit worth a look at this price point. For this kind of money one would expect some pretty groundbreaking stuff. Thankfully, Roland hasn't failed to deliver with the endlessly customisable new TD-50X. Offering no fixed height positions, the VISIONDRUM gives you total control over how big or small you want your set-up to be. The flexibility of the electronic drum kit makes it a great choice for all the family and is something that you'll never outgrow.

Roland’s VAD (V-Drums Acoustic Design) electronic kits are works of art. We’d expect nothing less from a Roland flagship, which takes cues from companies such as Pearl, Alesis and ATV by housing electronic pads in full drum shells. Impressively, the DTX402 is also compatible with Yamaha’s free DTX402 Touch app (iOS/Android), which enables deeper kit customisation, additional playing challenges and rewards as players improve. There are 40 preset kits on-board the module, which are all of decent quality. We liked ‘American Vintage’, ‘Purple Heart’ and ‘Collectors’ for their obvious DW referencing and there are plenty of presets to cater for most styles of music. On-ear headphones: These are similar to over-ears in that they sit over the ear instead of inside them, except on-ears won’t cover the entire ear. Again, this comes down to preference and comfort. Largely speaking, on-ears are a good option for home practice, especially with an electronic drum kit. Since they sit just over your ears, they won’t feel so isolating, which some drummers might find more comfortable - it allows a combination of directed sounds vs natural acoustics. ConnectorsThe phones feature a 40mm diaphragm, which, according to Alesis, allows for the wide dynamic range of a standard drum kit. The best drumming headphones feature comfortable cushions and are suitable for wearing for long gigs and rehearsals.

The quality of sound from these headphones is astonishing at this price point. I am a huge fan of those really clear highs and growly low ends. The headphones are extremely comfortable, and their over-ear design offers good sound isolation. Roland's latest addition to the V-Drums family is a hugely compelling offering if you're just starting out. It features a Roland dual-ply mesh head on the snare pad, neat and responsive bass drum and hi-hat controller pedals, and studio-quality sounds that are some of the best we’ve heard at this price point. If you’re unsure as to whether you need an electronic kit, it’s important to ask yourself the following questions: These headphones are a pleasure to use, with features comparable to much more expensive alternatives. VISIONDRUM Electronic Drum Kit with Stool and Headphones, Orange Overview

Electronic drum sets are becoming increasingly popular. That is because they allow drummers to practice quietly while still being able to produce quality drum sounds. While Yamaha's music instrument manufacturing is only a small aspect of their wider business, it has consistently made some of the very best acoustic and electronic drum sets on the market. The DTX8 series is no different, and especially when it comes to this e-kit - the DTX8K-M - which is, in our opinion, one of the best Yamaha electronic drum sets to date. Here you'll find out absolutely everything there is to know about electronic drum sets to help you choose the right option for you, whatever your budget or playing needs. All our advice comes from experts who have played, owned, reviewed and even sold kits over many years between them. Features: What additional features come complete with the kit or module and how well do they work? For example, many e-kits now feature Bluetooth connectivity, but how reliable is it and how easy is the connection process? Is it possible to add your own sounds to the module? If so, how easy is this process? For beginners, learning tools are key to the playing development. As such we asses the options available their usability and whether they have a genuine benefit to new players.
