About this deal

Cecelia Ahern (born 30 September 1981) is an Irish novelist, known for her works like PS, I Love You; Where Rainbows End; and If You Could See Me Now. Born in Dublin, Ahern is now published in nearly fifty countries, and has sold over 25 million copies of her novels worldwide. Two of her books have been adapted as major motion films. The short story collection Roar has been adapted as a series for Apple TV+. Let us all know that to be human is to be flawed, and let us learn from every mistake made so that we don’t make them again’ Os Imperfeitos” tem um ritmo vertiginoso, com capítulos curtos, exemplarmente estruturados, apresentado o enredo alguma complexidade, existindo uma eficácia narrativa excepcional e um suspense que nos mantém sempre na expectativa. I have enjoyed Cecelia Ahern novels before, but was hesitant about reading this one, as it is very different than what she has previously written. I was provided an early copy by Macmillan Children's Publishing Group and am happy to say I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Ok, I can see why people would compare it to the Reached series but just because it has a similar base point I find it pretty different. I loved Reached but the last 2 books were horrendous so I hope the sequels will be good on Flawed.

Even when she does step in to save the old man, it is partly out of kindness but also because what’s happening simply isn’t logical - it doesn’t fit in with her mathematical, direct view of the world. “I like solutions,” Celestine says. “The problem was disturbing me and fixing it just made sense.” Flawed is set in a powerfully realised society where perfection is valued above humanity, with an intense love story at its centre. Good-girl Celestine has always agreed with the system but following an act of kindness towards one of the Flawed is herself excluded and soon she is fighting for her own survival – and for love. Hugely accessible, emotionally resonant and with a character who will seize the hearts of anyone who meets her, this is the ideal book for anyone who has ever felt the pressure to be perfect. She and her books have won numerous awards, including the Irish Book Award for Popular Fiction for The Year I Met You. She has published several novels and contributed a number of short stories to various anthologies. Ahern also created and produced the ABC comedy Samantha Who? starring Christina Applegate. Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical MomentsThe Guild- people's body, has only one rule, you will be branded as "FLAWED", if you make ethical or moral mistakes in the society. A new book by Cecelia Ahern always creates a stir. She has sold over 4.9 million books worldwide and with two movies based on her work, plus a television series to her name, she is one of Ireland's most prolific writers.

Because of this, maintaining Perfection is a primary focus of all citizens living within this dystopian society. I could have used a teeny bit more world-building, but I am hoping more will be revealed in the next book. The ending made up for most of the book but I also felt the story kind of went nowhere. I'm unsure as to where or not I will continue.

About Cecelia Ahern

Celestine is a refreshing protagonist. For one, she happens to be mixed-race, which shouldn't be a big deal but which, in a world where young people of colour are shamefully under-represented in fiction, is important. And unlike some dystopian heroines, she is not a natural rebel or warrior. Like Jessika Keller, the teenage protagonist of Julie Mayhew's superb dystopian novel The Big Lie, Celestine is a "good girl". Academic, beautiful and just popular enough, she's always wanted to follow the rules, to avoid standing out. This had one of the most brutal dystopian settings I have ever read. Can you imagine a world where you are punished for making the first ever mistake? And not just for a duration, but your entire life. This Celestine North's life. Being perfect and flawless..This is what she has become. Obviously we know this can't last long, she ends up making a mistake in public for all the world to witness and the consequences are fast and fierce. But other plans are forced into play and she ends up being set as an example. Will she be able to overcome these challenges or will it ultimately kill her? a b c d Cecelia Ahern's Official Biography, archived from the original on 4 December 2007 , retrieved 31 December 2007 She has now added a YA (young adult) novel to her vast repertoire. Flawed is set in a dystopian future where being perfect is the ultimate goal, and it's aimed firmly at teenagers, although her loyal adult readers may also 'cross over'. Remember this. And she's just as boring and spiritless as that quote indicates. This book is dull, bland, and yet another prime example of failed YA dystopia. It was inoffensive, if you can call, a nonsensical dystopian future and a standard love triangle inoffensive, among its other faults.

They are pushing for a more equal society, ridding it of the old Perfect versus Flawed mentality. The rebels have grabbed onto Celestine's story and are using her as a sort of figurehead for their movement. WOW! Das erfahrt ihr jetzt: An Electronic Advanced Reader Copy was provided by the publisher via NetGalley for review. Quotes have been pulled from an ARC and may be subject to change.I've learned that people aren't cruel. Most people aren't, anyway,... but people are strong on self-preservation. And if something doesn't directly affect them, they don't get involved." Flawed centers around a young girl named Celestine, who lives in a dystopian world where everyone is forced to be perfect, or is punished by getting their flesh branded and be Scarlet-Letter'd with an "F" armband for "Flawed." Flawed' von Cecelia Ahern hat mich, überraschenderweise, wirklich umgehauen. Eine völlig neuartige, erfrischende Story mit einzigartig liebenswerten Figuren und einem sehr angenehmen Stil machen das Buch zu einem Highlight und ich komme nicht umhin zu sagen, dass Flawed definitiv zu meinen Jahres-Tops 2016 gehört.

Her rights are stripped and life as she knows it is over. Her long-time boyfriend, Art Crevan, whose father just so happens to be the Judge that sentenced her, has disappeared. This dystopian duo is a departure from Cecelia Ahern’s usual style and is her first foray into the Young Adult genre. It follows Celestine North who lives by the Rules, she strives to be Perfect, because in Perfection is happiness.

Publication Order of Standalone Novels

It has a lot of the elements you see in a typical dystopian novel; a society governed by strict rules to keep people in line, yew-neek character names, a love triangle and a follow-the-rules teenager who suddenly becomes the poster girl for a revolution.
