It is unclear if it was consciously decided to reimagine Blitzwing as a Seeker, or if it was just a case of a generic Decepticon getting labelled with the "Blitzwing" name after the fact. However, it seems unlikely that the character was originally intended to be Starscream himself; the character's demise was present in the early test screenings when the movie was still intended to be a prequel to the Michael Bay films, in which Starscream was very much alive. Moving on from these stupid things in a hurry, transforming him into his other modes is fairly complex without crossing over into the realm of complicated or fiddly. It's fun to do which I think is essential for a triple changer, though as with many of his three-way brethren, one mode always looks worse than the others. And as usual with Blitzkrieg, it’s the jet mode.His "Icy" personality speaks with (what's regarded in Japan as) a very stereotypical (but polite) American accent; sounding out words slowly, always using the bland but respectful -masu form and ending nearly every sentence with a proper desu. It still looks dumb, but furthers it from the idea that this is supposed to be a realistic jet. Its goofy, but kinda interesting in a strange way.
