About this deal

The book is all about opening your mind and heart to the infinite signs in the universe that are sent to us by our “Team of Light”, or those who are deceased that look after us, our guardian angels if you will. Our Team of Light is always on the other side sending us messages and signs, trying to get us to open our minds. The opening paragraph says that is no accident that this book came to me, I thought that was a strong message. Anyway, the author goes on to tell stories of people receiving signs from their loved ones when they asked. I wished fervently that my mom would send me a dragonfly again because I hadn’t seen one from her in a long time. Once the author asked for an orange to be put in her path as a sign, and came across a decoration with thousands of oranges. When we ask for a specific sign we may be sent it dozens of times in various creative ways. Book Genre: Adult, Fantasy, Metaphysics, Nonfiction, Occult, Paranormal, Philosophy, Self Help, Spirituality, Witchcraft

After that, I opened my mind to the rest of the book. All I can say, is that you have to read it for yourself, especially if you are struggling with the loss of a love one. It is a beautiful experience. And she is partially right. But the book got clouded by this other stuff, by her and not her message. Also it just got plain ole repetitive. Do I need 1000 (exaggeration) stories of the same thing to get ur point? Three or four days went by and nothing, and I was beginning to think the book was wishful thinking. Then on Saturday, my husband I were driving somewhere. We arrived at our destination, but I was talking on the phone with my dad because he had called me while we were driving so I didn’t get out immediately. We were sitting in the parking lot, chatting with my dad, when all of a sudden this beautiful green dragonfly flew up and starting banging against our windshield. It kept doing it. I started to cry and said, “It’s my dragonfly from my mom.” The dragonfly kept hovering by our car, and when I got out, it flew up to me and followed me for a minute. I know it sounds totally crazy, but it happened, my husband saw it for himself, and trust me, he is a total skeptic. It’s a lovely concept, if you don’t think too critically about it: the existence of the “other side”, shrouded in love and light. A reality where death isn’t real and we get to be with our loved ones again. Not just our loved ones, either, apparently. Our pets and our unborn babies, too, according to Laura Lynne! This book was just what I needed. So if you are wanting to open your mind to the possibilities of messages from the other side, read this book. It was a life changing read for me, and I am glad I took the chance. DEATH IS NOTHING AT ALL Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again! —HENRY SCOTT-HOLLAND”

I borrowed a copy of this book from the library. All opinions are my own, and I was not compensated for this review. Maybe it’s just not that easy to let go of the hope that you can still talk to the people you love once they’re gone. This is a very hopeful book for those that have suffered losses in their life. When someone passes away, we often wonder if they are doing okay and if they can connect with us. The author happens to be a psychic medium who is able to connect with people that have passed, and has the ability to convey messages. She believes that anyone is capable of connecting with our loved ones and provides many examples and ways to do so yourself.

The only chapter worth reading is 30...(why did I really suffer through 29 to get there)...which discusses the importance of art, travel, and basic self-care routines. A modern guide to connecting with the other side, Signs is full of stories of hope. It teaches us how to recognise and interpret the life-changing messages from loved ones and spirit guides, by a renowned psychic medium.

April 2021: I re-read this book because it resonated with me so strongly that first time and I need some positivity and inspiration right now. Pandemic life has been hard on me, along with extra personal challenges I've faced recently. I feel isolated and less optimistic than usual. This book was a reminder that we are all connected, both here and on The Other Side. I feel inspired to ask The Universe for what I need and be open to guidance. A collection of incredible stories . . . that speak to the universe’s endless capacity for magical moments.”—Goop To be perfectly honest, I don’t have a strong opinion on psychic mediums, I don’t discount what they can do, but I have never had a personal experience with one, so I am on the fence. After reading this book, I am a believer. This stirring guide . . . asserts that anyone can learn to understand messages that are sent from the ‘Other Side.’ . . . For readers struggling with loss who believe it’s possible to communicate with the deceased, this book will console and empower them to look beyond their suffering.” — Publishers Weekly This most hopeful work is a peek behind the scenes of the universe, reading it is like receiving a private message from God. Its essence is this: While one’s body is temporary, one’s love lives forever. What a thought!” —Mark Epstein, MD, author of Advice Not Given: A Guide to Getting Over Yourself

However, despite asking numerous times, I have not myself received any signs from passed loved ones, so this was disappointing. Don't let her first chapter fool you, this is entirely written from a Judeo-Christian p.o.v. and clearly only accounts stories of affluent individuals who could afford her services. The ENTIRE book is just complied of stories of people seeing signs, NOT any meaning behind them, origins of these beliefs, or even analogies to anything outside of this woman's readings. There’s a chapter about how to shine brightly where we learn about shifting our energy, gratitude, food, sleep, prayer, manifesting and how thoughts matter.
