This resource focuses on Anushka, Asha’s sister as she is introduced in chapter 2 of the Agent Asha: Mission Shark Bytes book. Communication was quick and friendly and the product shipped fast and internationally to a small town where we usually find it difficult to receive mail. I think lots of kids will enjoy this book because it's exciting and there are some fun, silly bits (like the farting selfie stick).

Agent Asha: Mission Shark Bytes by Sophie Deen | Waterstones

Agent Asha herself is an 11-year-old from Wembley, London, who has just been asked to join the largest spy agency in the world! Personally as a woman of colour and mother, I was really happy with the characters in the book being so identifiable. I would recommend this book to people who have read the previous book Mission Shark Bytes and for people who enjoy Agent Zaiba and Vi Spy.The story follows Asha, her 'nannybot' Drone, and reprogrammed toy hamster Tumble as they are tasked with the mission of saving the internet.

About - Anjan Sarkar Illustration About - Anjan Sarkar Illustration

The book comes with an associated app- CSA World which has a real flavour of the book, the games require children to think about programming which is fast becoming an essential life skill. Asha’s family dynamic was quite lovely, she’s a young biracial girl from a British Indian Family, with a grandmother who’s 1,000 years old and who can keep secrets better than anyone Asha knows! Loved reading the storyline about Detective Dot's mission to tackle global issues, encouraging enquiry into what's ethical in a fun cool way for kids and adults too! The personalisation is a lovely touch which made sure the children were keen to open it up straight away! children's intelligence agency) growing up as a British Indian Girl :) so unique and innovative embedding coding and all things tech for the next generation.Sophie previously worked at Code Club, alongside Google and the Department For Education, to help introduce the new coding curriculum in primary schools. I try to read books before I pass them onto the children because this enables me to discuss the stories with them which is so important for building their comprehension skills. Reluctant readers are more engaged when there are plenty of illustrations and the images here really bring the story to life in a way that is suitable for the target age group.

Agent Asha: Mission Shark Bytes eBook : Deen, Sophie, Sarkar

Your class will explore the definitions, which have been written as simply as possible whilst ensuring accuracy. This story revolves around her becoming a spy for the CSA aka children’s spy agency and resolving her first case. Anjan Sarkar studied illustration at Manchester Metropolitan University, then worked as a barista, barman, document scanner, online content developer, graphic designer and now, freelance illustrator. The very first illustration which precedes the first chapter depicts Asha cracking away on her calculator, with Drone surveying and Tumble lounging around on his own little device, before getting frantic that there might be a bug nearby!Young Asha isn’t afraid to think for herself too, all the more reason as to why I’d definitely encourage younger readers to pick this one up!

Agent Asha: Mission Shark Bytes by Sophie Deen | Goodreads

Agent Asha: Mission Shark Bytes follows protagonist Asha, a young and talented coder, who has just become a super spy for the Children's Spy Agency. The set does a great job of engaging the children and making them feel part of the spy agency, this is complemented by the book it comes with which encourages their reading skills to learn more about the spy world. I love the innovation behind it, such a great way to get the little ones more into coding, imaginative thinking and STEM!There was lots of excitement when the ‘documents’ arrived, with a note to the postman marking them top secret and dangerous! She loved the invitation letter that welcomed her as an agent, the contract to sign, the map and coding disk, gadgets, stickers and more. Asha is suspicious when evil teenage trillionaire Shelly Belly proposes to cut down all the trees in Asha’s favourite park to make room for CyberOaks: the new tech trees.
