About this deal

Distilled in October 2007, the whisky spent 14 years resting in a single ex-bourbon cask until bottling in May 2022. Matured for 10 years in a refill hogshead between 2007 and 2018, 171 bottles await their future owners, will one of them be you? The result is a triple distilled single malt packed full of stewed fruit and warming Christmas spice notes.

Release for the Travel Retail market in 2019, Auchentoshan Dark Oak enjoys its maturation in a combo of Oloroso sherry, Pedro Ximénez sherry and bourbon casks. The ever-awesome Ryan Chetiyawardana gives you a cocktail recipe on the label, so you know a tasty way to enjoy this wonderful expression. It starts off with very light notes of mandarin, toffee, honeysuckle and a little bit of wood ash and tannins, but it is quite thin and a bit boring like other reviews have stated but it's ok. Discover everything Auchentoshan has to offer and what sets it apart as a Lowland Single Malt with a defined sense of identity and range of whisky with character.

While we have taken care in preparing this summary and believe it to be accurate, it is not a substitute for reading the product packaging and label prior to use.Auchentoshan is a Scottish distillery known for producing some of the lightest and most delicate whiskies in the world.

I don't know all the fancy words/flavours stuff, but have been a malt drinker for over 40 years and this is on a par with jura. The origins of the distillery are quite shrouded, it originally started life under the name ‘Duntocher’, which was first mentioned around the turn of the nineteenth century. The result: a smooth and complex Single Malt Scotch Whisky, with notes of white peach and smooth vanilla cream. Born in 1823, we are Scotland's only remaining distillery to insist on triple distilling every drop. A 1 litre bottle of Auchentoshan's Blood Oak single malt, which was originally released for the Travel Retail Market. This single malt was distilled at Auchentoshan in 2007 and matured for 13 years in an Oloroso sherry cask, before it was bottled up by the indie experts at North Star. That barrel was opened up by indie bottler Douglas Laing, releasing a total of 318 bottles for the Provenance collection. Auchentoshan® adheres to the SWA Code of Practice for the Responsible Marketing and Promotion of Scotch Whisky © 2023, 40 – 53. The Auchentoshan distillery is located in the Lowlands of Scotland, and has been in operation since 1823.
