About this deal

Regularly wipe/buff the already treated surface with a new clean cloth to see how you’re polishing exercise is going. Brasso has been successfully used to take minor (white) heat marks out of French polished wooden surfaces.

Although, if you’ve used an appropriate amount of Brasso for the surface you need to clean, and you’ve worked the Brasso into the item and buffed it as well, there shouldn’t be any need to remove the Brasso with water. Brasso is a well-known metal polisher, that can be used to polish, remove tarnish and clean up chrome, stainless steel, copper, and of course, brass. Products likely to be impacted by this higher rate parcel send are: boxes of paper, multiple quantities of water, desk stands or furniture and volume packs of cleaning supplies. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations June 2014 you have a duty to take reasonable care of Products whilst they are in your possession.Because of the hydrocarbon components in the mixture it had a flash point of 72°F (22°C) ( Abel Close test) and so was classed by railway companies as dangerous goods. Priority deliveries cannot be offered to all locations, and occasionally shipments may be delayed by credit checks. Reckitt's appealed to the companies asking for the polish to be recategorised in the hope of reducing costs, but the railways disagreed. As a result of this, in 1913 the case was taken to the Railway and Canal Commissioners for a decision. Use small amounts of Brasso at a time, and add more product as you go– If you use too much Brasso you run the risk of it dripping everywhere as you use it, especially the liquid form, this is wasteful.

This, in turn, means that you can quickly remove the wadding from the tin and use it straight away to polish a surface. The composition of our product has changed very little in the last century, it's that reliable, and our old cans are often collected as examples of classic British advertising.

Keep an eye out for a blue and white striped pot that has a big red label on the front, with the name ‘Brasso’ on it. The online data sheet for Brasso wadding in the UK lists the ingredients as C8–10 Alkane/Cycloalkane/Aromatic Hydrocarbons, Quartz, C14–18 and C16–18 unsaturated Fatty acids, Kaolinite, Aqua, Ammonium Hydroxide and Iron Hydroxide. Regularly wipe/buff the already treated areas with an additional clean cloth to see how you’re polishing exercise is going. The homemade brass cleaner is effective, less expensive and safer for the environment than the commercially produced Brasso. The label of Australian Brasso lists "Liquid Hydrocarbons 630g/L; Ammonia 5g/L", whereas the material safety data sheet for Brasso in North America lists: isopropyl alcohol 3–5%, ammonia 5–10%, silica powder 15–20% and oxalic acid 0–3% as the ingredients.Gently rub a piece of Brasso wadding onto the surface you want to clean to perform a small patch test – make sure the Brasso doesn’t mark or stain the surface you’re about to polish.
