About this deal

Fortunately, Musubi (her cat) is a perfect companion for a cat neophyte like her, being a sweet pwayful wittle snookie-wookems. You can ride on a carousel, jump on a trampoline, push balls from slides, push balls to pool, ride on a skateboard, destroy gnome statues, pop balloons. New chapters are still being released in Shōnen Sunday S, so if this English translation works we could be in for a long run of this series. Cat + Gamer centers on a 29-year-old woman named Riko who lives and breathes video games (She probably reads GamesRadar! No one is more surprised than Riko when she volunteers to take home the stray kitten building security found in the parking lot.

A charming and humorous manga about Riko, a young Japanese office lady-by-day and ultra-gamer-by-night, who unexpectedly takes a cat home and becomes a pet owner for the first time. Riko is a completist; she will max out her party and attempt to fight the same battle again and again, just to get that 2% rare drop she wants. She immediately starts likening it to a video game and "leveling up" her cat skills, which I thought was funny. English translation is provided by Zack Davisson, who does a good job at translating the cat puns and Riko’s quirks for the English readership, my only quibble is with the nickname that colleagues give Riko – the ‘Zero Overtime Woman’ – was there nothing snappier or funny that could’ve been done? Not all manga is created equal; some are created because the mangaka wants to tell a grand story with heavy themes and plot twists.Because she’s got more important things to do, like play the latest Dragon Sword title and complete all the side quests. While Riko may seem "air headed" in taking care of a new pet, I thought it interesting how she was able to make parallels between gaming and raising a cat. I'm really glad I picked it up from my library and gave it a try because after a really busy day, I found this a great manga to read and unwind.

Plus, if any readers are new pet parents, I think this manga is going to hit all those first times for you especially if you've taken in a stray animal or recently rescued a pet. As a fellow gamer, I could see a lot of myself in her (as a proud owner of the Shadow the Hedgehog PS2 controller) and I’m sure other gamers will too. Having no experience with pets, Riko uses lessons drawn from video games to guide her in cat care, while her cute companion tries to understand her behavior through a cat’s worldview. Riko is at Level 1 when it comes to cats, she knows nothing about them, but that doesn’t mean she can’t level up and become the best cat owner a gamer can be! I also liked the detail in the games that Riko plays; they’re somewhat generic, with references to the likes of Dragon’s Quest, Final Fantasy, the Souls games and such, but it’s still detailed regardless. As for being a cat owner, I haven’t had one since I was a child, but I do have a friend who has shared many stories of her two cats – including their many attempts to get their owner’s attention whilst they worked from home – so I can imagine that cat owners will find the antics of the angelic cat on the cover will be amusing to them as well. So now you get all kinds of variations on gaming terms but applied to cats, and that does sound a bit naff, but it isn't! Her coworkers can’t quite figure her out—she never talks about her personal life, she never works overtime, and she never joins them for happy hour.

Cats need attention, food and sleep, so it’s all about how Riko’s lifestyle must change to accommodate it.Too many focus on heavily monetised content and too many ads, not to mention the lack Of functios and polish which were present in the older versions. He is the author of the book Modern: Masters Cliff Chiang, co-authored Art of Spider-Man Classic, and contributed to Dark Horse/Bedside Press' anthology Pros and (Comic) Cons.

My 1 year old daughter loves playing with talking Tom, it's a shame I'm going to have to delete the app because everytime she touched the screen to play with Tom an ad pops up.

As a long-time gamer and having cats who like to be all up in my gaming business, it was so nice to read about a main character who hits close to home.
