The Witchlings Deck and Book Set is a charming little kit from Paulina Cassidy, linking her 40 witchy characters with magick and spell crafting. There are 22 Major Arcana cards and 56 Minor Arcana cards divided into 4 suits which are Cups, Pentacles, Swords, and Wands. I get questions daily about how to figure out what type of witch you are, so I wanted to put it all into one post.

If you are interested in a more earth-based branch of paganism, or would like to use a tarot deck with strong elements of Celtic mythology, earth energies, or folk lore then this is a wonderful deck for you. On the other hand, and purely as a matter of subjective personal taste, I really dislike when decks rename the cards. Some decks are designed for specific reading techniques, such as intuitive readings or traditional spreads. When you find the deck that matches your energy, you will unlock a powerful tool for self-reflection, guidance, and personal growth. A storm witch generally casts spells based on the weather rather than based on the moon and needs a whole lot of chaotic energy to pour into a spell.

Remember that your relationship with the deck will evolve over time, deepening your connection and guiding you on your path of self-discovery and transformation. I recommend practicing drawing your power from the flame of a candle when casting a spell, instead of from the earth or another source. It’s important to routinely notice not only what phase the moon is in (waxing, full moon, waning, new moon, etc. The city witch thrives on chaotic city energy, on being around groups of people, and even on the individual energy of the city itself.Each tarot card meanings are adorned with a myriad of symbols, colors, and images that evoke specific emotions and resonate with universal archetypes. The Waking the Wild Spirit Tarot is a whimsical, non-traditional deck, the tarot imagery has been recreated as a mix of fairy tales and the natural world. That doesn’t make the deck bad, it just means that I, personally, will have a harder time working with it.
