This year marks the second visit to Bury for the Grimm Up North team who set up the festival last year in response to extraordinary circumstances faced by their friend Steve Grimmett (Grim Reaper) who was in urgent need of funds to raise thousands of pounds for life – saving surgery in South America. But when the ex-paratrooper’s obsession with tracking down his murderous father nearly throws an investigation, the dyed-in-the-wool city dweller is horrified to be reassigned to North Yorkshire’s rural backwater. The title “Corpse Road” refers to the contextual crime scene, a typical road traditionally used by mourners going to a graveyard. Although seemingly unrelated incidents at first, it is soon revealed that three victims were not only former classmates but their schooling-era record books have been tampered with. Aside from his many hobbies that include music, caving, shooting, camping, climbing and archery, he has always loved writing. Now have read all of them…being in my eighties will never see the “dales”“fells” but after reading your books feel like I have been there…also great stories and enjoy your comparisons.
