Brian loved life and his terminal diagnosis came as a huge shock to his family, but the care he received from the Community Palliative Care Team was second to none. From our Well Being services our 8-bed In-Patient Unit, to care “At Home”, carer support and the Lymphoedema Clinic, our aim is to enable patients to live their lives as fully and as comfortably as possible whilst providing support to their families/carers. Katharine House Hospice began as ‘Stafford Hospice at Home’ in 1989, before the Katharine House Hospice Day Care Unit opened in May 1993.

Katharine House Hospice is a local charity that relies on the kindness and generosity of our community to cover most of the cost of our vital free care services. Katharine House Hospice's Community Palliative Care Team are here to provide support at home in addition to other services. What a great opportunity to celebrate and give a shout out to all our brilliant staff right across the hospice who make Katharine House so special.Both of our offices are wheelchair accessible, and the courts are equipped with hearing assistance devices. Your donations make a real difference to us and we can turn your second hand items into first class care for local people.

We provide a range of services which offer holistic care and support for people with advanced life-limited conditions across mid-Staffordshire. We have gone from strength to strength, welcoming our first in-patient in September 2000, a ‘Drop in Day’ in 2001 and a Carers’ Group in 2004. Our care is free and provided where and when it is needed most – in the community, at home, or at our hospice. As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve, our focus is on the wellbeing of our residents and employees. We hope you will be pleased with all aspects of our care and services, and would appreciate knowing if there is any more we can do.Inpatients in our hospice can have two visitors with them at any one time between 8am and 8pm (they don't have to be the same two visitors throughout the day). We would be delighted to collect your quality used furniture and other large items, including electricals, for free.
