About this deal

Grain is also much improved over the previous DVD, which often looked fuzzy and indistinct (particularly with red, which is a dominant color throughout the film). Granted, Dianne Wiest and Edward Herrmann had been in the business for some time, but the younger, fresh faces of Jason Patric, Jamie Gertz and Kiefer Sutherland were still new to the Hollywood scene. Audio Commentary - Director Joel Schumacher flies solo, for a measured -- if sometimes slow -- commentary. Michael becomes infatuated with Star (Jami Gertz), who happens to hang out with a group of thugs led by David (Kiefer Sutherland). Grain is omnipresent, with no obvious signs of any form of digital management and its incredibly fine at all times.

Multi-Angle Video Commentary– Haim, Feldman and Jaimson Newlander offer up a 20 minute segment on some multi-angles of the film via the oft-used “angle” button your control. After 35 years and countless viewings, Joel Schumacher's The Lost Boys is a personal favorite that continues to entertain and remains as much loved today as the first time I watched it. Oddly, the film’s success made it ripe for a big budget sequel, but that never happened and it’s really not known why.Celebrating its 35th anniversary, Warner Home Video brings Joel Schumacher's The Lost Boys to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray as a two-disc combo pack with a flyer for a Digital Copy. I suppose with streaming fast becoming the dominant way in which folk digest their flicks, the golden age of physical media is over and the studios won’t pour the coin into manufacturing fresh/contemporary documentaries/interviews.

After countless viewings, Joel Schumacher's The Lost Boys is a personal favorite that continues to entertain although the 80s cult horror classic remains very much a product of its time. But overall, this is the best the movie has ever looked on any home video format, awash in a fine, thin layer of natural grain that is consistent and furnishes the presentation with a gorgeous film-like appearance. Any subversive possibilities are largely tossed aside in favor of standard genre thrills and overt humor, which, while making the film entertaining, ultimately render it vapid. Home Entertainment has announced that Joel Schumacher’s 1987 cult classic The Lost Boys is set for a 4K Ultra HD release this September with an all-new restoration in celebration of its 35th anniversary; check out the cover artwork, trailer and details below…. Even with this being possibly one of the first mainstream queer movies to cater for the teen crowd, if legend is to be believed, you could look at this through 21st century eyes and mock.a brilliantly crafted poster boy for the 1980s - charisma flowing through his veins instead of blood, an attitude that burnt out of him like wildfire and those cheekbones that made everyone want to either be him or be with him, regardless of gender or sexuality. Inside the Vampire’s Cave – four featurettes, including ‘A Directors Vision’, ‘Comedy vs Horror’, ‘Fresh Blood’ and ‘The Lost Boys Sequel? The 2008 blu ray features are copious and terrific and included in this set on a blu ray disc version of the film (with the new transfer). There are glam-rock costumes and hairstyles, a total lack of any ‘true’ horror and even Tim Cappello’s mythic greased up saxophone gyration still being seemingly the most erotic thing ever to grace a cinema screen. Haim shows serious comedic charisma and Sutherland intensity and wisdom beyond his years (rather fitting for a vampire).
