About this deal

Now, here's the important bit: the small voltage difference between the two doesn't really matter when using a battery adapter. It works very well but only connects 2 prongs of the Makita battery, so it's power only and no protection circuits. It’s a simple idea, designed and manufactured in the UK, and I can now use my Makita LXT batteries on my Ryobi equipment, saving me money on new Ryobi batteries. A second slightly more serious issue is that the back of the adapter seems to be a little off so that the battery can rock back and forth a little bit and occasionally that can cause a power interruption. In many cases, a bare Makita tool can cost almost twice as much as the Ryobi equivalent and a Badaptor.

Experience the convenience of a universal approach without the need for expensive battery and charger replacements.A Badaptor allows you to use your 18V Makita batteries with the entire range of over 200 Ryobi 18V tools. It’s even worse if those tools are niche, and won’t get as much use as other tools in your collection.

Simple to use and easy to attach, the Makita to Ryobi Badaptor clips securely into any Ryobi 18V tool with no movement. Here's the reassuring part: both 18V and 20V batteries are made up of 5 cells, each having a voltage of 3.As it's a brushless tool and my use is unlikely to ever drain a battery I don't see a problem not having the protection circuits.

It's a recommendation from me if you're on a dedicated battery platform and have a tool or two on a different one.Outside of the Ryobi range, there are Badaptors available that convert a range of 18V batteries to DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Makita tools.
