Construction: Just like all Solo Stoves, the Campfire is made from durable 304 stainless steel with a nichrome wire grate in the bottom. But it is still lightweight enough to move around the yard or even throw it in the trunk to take to the neighbors or carry to your campsite. The Campfire comes with a carrying bag which helps to keep residual ash from getting on anything else the Solo Stove Campfire may be packed with. Car camping: Not recommended for cooking– While I love the concept of these stoves, they simply don’t fit my style of car camping. You’ll enjoy a campfire without the associated coughing and eye-watering that comes with smokey fires. You can do what I did and spear your food onto a stick that you hold above the fire to roast, but you can also purchase a hub accessorythat you can place a skillet on for open-fire cooking. If you’re planning to spend a whole evening sitting around the campfire, you’ll need at least two bundles of firewood, if not more. But if you want a cover, there are two options – the Solo Stove company sells both a full fabric cover and a stainless still lid! The company sells a base for it to sit on so that creates some separation between the heat and the ground – I HIGHLY recommend that for just about everyone!Whether it's the natural warmth provided, the hypnotic glow of the flames or the fact that you can casually live-fire roast marshmallows and hot dogs while enjoying good company, a fire in the backyard just makes everything better.
