About this deal

Have a Talk with God, unreal but strangely comforting at the same time, with its haunting mesh of disconnected synthesizer sounds, succinctly evokes the message suggested in its title. Maybe this is naive, but compared to all the modern R'n'B singers who just seem to sing about their big shiny bling and their big shiny dicks, it shows a man with heart, someone who judges himself and others by something more than their bank balance.

Sometimes i am annoyed by the QC of records pressed in the USA,during the vinyl heyday,, i understand they had access to the same masters , so if both have the same source why is the german press better? Pastime Paradise" (which you've probably heard as Coolio's shameless rip-off "Gangsta's Paradise," a song that gives me good reason to hate sampling) sounds like Eastern music, and just might be the best example of a Westerner using Eastern music. I got rid of all of my remastered CD's and replaced them with all of the original mid 80's US Tamla CD's that I could find. The album would go on to receive a Diamond certification from the RIAA in 2005, representing ten million total sales for the double LP. Released during the second half of 1977, as sales for the album began to decline, the last two singles from Songs in the Key of Life failed to match the success of "I Wish" and "Sir Duke".The title and refrain has been criticised for being a bit blatant or cheesy (or both), but Stevie's statement about "love being in need of love" is clearly a plea to us to recognise the universal importance of something that too many take for granted in a world stricken by evil and social disarray. I am worried, however, on coming back to this Stevie Wonder album after 30 years, that the impact it has on me is just a nostalgia for my youth - and I don't usually suffer from nostalgia and it makes me wonder if I am turning into my acquaintance. Despite Songs in the Key of Life's enduring critical and popular acclaim even since it hit the top spot on the US pop chart, where it remained for a staggering thirteen consecutive weeks and in total 35 weeks in the top ten, it may be a difficult album to quickly assimiliate for the non-initiated.

The start of the tour coincided with the 38th anniversary of the release of Songs in the Key of Life. I think that this issue is superior to the original 1976 pressing that I bought in college (that I still have). The first of two big hit singles, Sir Duke, comes breezing in like a much needed breath of fresh air through its chanting trumpet and softly thudding bass drum introduction, with Sembello's acoustic guitar kicking off one of Stevie's most joyous and effervescent numbers, with appropriately jazzy chord changes and a horn section of tremendous drive accompanying a tune that the Duke himself would have been truly proud of.

Special limited gatefold album edition includes two 12"s and one extra 7" single featuring four bonus tracks (all records in yellow coloured vinyl). Matrix / Runout (Side C runout stamped/etched): 97901-B-0 (MR) T13340C2 2647S C6 XTAL AB Δ21331 (2) W. There are songs which are really nice but which suffer tremendously from being too long ( As, Another Star, Isn't She Lovely, Black Man, Ordinary Pain and Joy Inside My Tears), in spite of being mostly good songs. Vote up content that is on-topic, within the rules/guidelines, and will likely stay relevant long-term. It contained songs about faith and love among all peoples and songs about social justice for the poor and downtrodden.
