I should give one star, only the music gets much more, but the most of us have this already in one or another form. From day one, the British group kept everyone guessing, as they relentlessly evolved from the post-punk / Goth / New Wave / new romantic smorgasbord of 1984’s Dreamtime, through the sparkling nouveau psychedelia of 1985’s Loveto the roughneck blue-denim hard rock of 1987’s Electric. Instead, they chose a more predictable course, and set out to polish and enhance the promising commercial formula of Electricwith a view of elevating their anthemic songs to truly arena-packing dimensions. The box is a two piece, lift-off lid type and has a foam inner tray with recess areas for the cassette and backstage pass.

On 4 October 2019, Sonic Temple was re-released as a 5-CD box set and as a 2 LP/1 cassette box set, with a different cover, the original album digitally remastered, numerous rarities, a live album recorded at London Wembley Arena and a comprehensive booklet featuring rare photos and background info on the album and the band. Later on, they tracked a new demo version of the record (15 songs) with Chris Taylor (drummer for the Bob Rock band).Astbury's vocal talent, Mickey Curry's suitably effective drum work and Jamie Stewart's groovy bass lines all flow together so very well. The guitar work is groovy and the other instruments generally follow on as best as they can, but with the album running at almost an hour in length, one can't help but feel if 'Automatic Blues' was purely added as a filler. Butthe long and tortuous road that had brought the Cult this widespread acceptance was bound to claim its bounty. It does not compare favourably with 'Love' nor 'Electric' but "American Horse" and "Sweet Soul Sister" in particular are great heavy rock tracks.

But what you're starting to notice is that the issue is moving more and more into the focus of the heavy listenership and is slowly getting the attention and appreciation it deserves. It is numbered on the spine in silver foil block and limited to 3500 pieces worldwide and contains 40 tracks, four of which are previously unreleased.The album catapulted The Cult into superstar status and remains their most commercially successful release.
