Working and studying at an international level, in the thriving urban context of Milan, the rural area of Fangkou Village in China, and the UK South Coast has helped me develop an understanding of the changing economical, geographical, and social conditions, as well as how to work with the different local authorities and regulations while listening to the communities' needs. There are a couple recipes that don't seem too time intensive I may try, but a lot of these seem like more work than I'm interested in doing for what is a pretty straightforward vegetarian meal. Part cookbook, part art book, The Forest Feast will be as comfortable in the kitchen as on the coffee table. My third book, The Forest Feast Gatherings (an entertaining focused book with menus for different occasions), came out September 2016.

When food photographer and stylist Erin Gleeson left New York City to live in a cabin in the woods of Northern California, she started the blog The Forest Feast to document her vegetable-centric, seasonal approach to cooking. The project uses a digital fictional narrative, set in a distant future (June 2051), in which a festival becomes a design tool to imagine a series of scenarios within the village. Last August Nomadic worked alongside The Grove, part of Leading Hotels of The World, to create an immersive feasting and foraging experience within its sprawling 300 acre estate in partnership with Jaguar Land Rover and lead sponsors Everyman Cinema.Vaia windstorm acts as a trigger, resurfacing issues of uncontrolled forestation and neglect in the last century in Italy. We visited a lavender farm in the Eastern Sierra, a date farm in the desert, a ranch on the Central Coast and many other spots rich with agricultural history. Armagh, living and breathing the same entrepreneurial and agile spirit, with equally big ambitions to deliver the world’s best snacks.

My husband Jonathan is from New York City and we met when I was living in Manhattan during grad school.
