The first episode, when we're getting to know the crew and their plight first becomes clear, is the highlight so far, managing to cleverly dole out exposition around motivations and grievances without appearing heavy-handed - it packs a lot of character depth into one hour of storytelling.

While the tsunami is still at the height of its power when "The Rig" ends, it's like to set a gateway for more natural disasters to come. Considering its explicit overarching story about humankind directly attacking the Earth, there's no sugarcoating exactly what the show is trying to say.Horribly plausible as it may be, the supernatural, thriller, and sci-fi undertones of "The Rig" mean that anything is possible when it comes to the theme of humanity vs. When they are in getting repaired at Invergordon, they tower over the town and you see them wherever you are.
