In part one of the book you will fall in love with the female lead character development, but almost at the end of book one, author tell a story about male lead's background, and that is mind blowing.

Another thing that I liked about it was how the main characters are so different: a stuttering girl who was abused by her father (because of her disability) all her life and an arrogant, overprotective boy (that clearly loves her), together gave us some funny moments but also a lot of miscommunication momentsssss arghhh. There may be perfectly 30 chapters without anything relevant to the plot(seriously, I can't remember like a quarter part of the book).The second book is still a work in progress as well, so it really does take a great deal of patience to wait for the official release. She got married off to Riftan by her father, Duke Croyso because he wanted to avoid going to fight the Red Dragon, Sektor, as instructed by the king. The friendship she formed with his companions was really cute, and even though she was afraid of talking to them, nobody cared that she stuttered. Although the two spent only one night together and Riftan is a stranger to Maxi, she is afraid that he might want to divorce her, for the divorce would mean a death sentence for the young woman.

The reason this novel is so good because it dips its toes in the topic of the after effects of abuse. What can possibly go wrong if we put together a traumatized female lead with an overbearing-self-conscious male lead that won't stop misunderstanding each other every time they interact with one another in the most ridiculous escenarios ever created by mankind? Third, their main issues is actually miscommunication, but through the story author make me realize how important it is to be open to your spouse, although they are passionate to each other, they still have this issues since they don't have a totally proper conversation between spouse. Maxi tries to barely communicate with Riftan about their argument bout her learing magic, but ofc it ends in smut (handjob); Riftan says do watcha want; Maxi starts her mana accumulation/circulating training.Riftan says Maxi is his only family (taling bout children); next day Maxi goes to training grounds only to witness Riftan's duel with one of royal knights.
