She notices a well-known male body lying in her yard, badly injured. Gracie Castro lives a lonely life. Since her grandparents died, she has had only herself. She's learned to be okay with it because it's the only choice she has. Then, one day, a grumpy superhero bursts into her life, quite literally. This man ends up in her garden in an accident and gets badly hurt. Gracie knows who he is and although she doesn't really want to, she ends up helping him and taking care of him. Of course I dropped everything on my hands to start this book as soon as it got out and MZ surprised us all with the release. yes bitch, we know he’s hot…he’s henry cavill for pete’s sake but tell us more about how you think he’s sweet and caring 🙃 I'm going to go with 4½ stars that I'm rounding up despite the slog in the beginning. Once past that part, I had a hard time putting it down and the banter was tons of fun. Sadly and with regret, it's a no. I'm not going to say that I hated it because it's a strong word but I also don't think this was good... The more I think about it, the more I think it was the laziest plot I have encountered in a while and the execution wasn't better.It hurts my feelings that I’m right here, that you’re right there, and you still think that you’re ever going to be alone again.” The grump in this will make your heart melt, especially for how he feels for Gracie. I would’ve loved so much more of this world. And man, I could’ve dealt with a longer epilogue but honestly MZ? This was magic. Pure sunshine. Pure joy. Devoured this.

I'm not going to lie, it took me till about the 20% mark to truly get into this book. It had a bit of a slow start for me, but as the book went on I loved it more and more. The last half especially was perfect. Gracie and her grumpy hero stole my heart and this book left me with the biggest smile on my face. It was magical and I didn't want it to end.I felt misled, and incredibly disappointed that it was not what both the blurb, the cover and the author promised me. this had the typical MZ aspects that i always enjoy - the slow burn, lots of sweet moments, and most importantly, a relationship built on friendship. that's always my favourite part when it comes to this author.
