Though he initially held the advantage, Optimus was steadily overcome by the invader before the psychic shard of Windblade sabotaged the alternate Matrix, allowing Prime's beam to paralyze the Decepticon. Before they could decide what to do with him, Astrotrain claimed his master and took him away into the multiverse as punishment for his abuse. Optimus was later present when Windblade made a full recovery, celebrating her return.
