About this deal

An easy-to-use, compact solution for common audio problems faced by engineers and performers while in the field or the studio. Provides up to +25dB of active ultra-clean gain in two distinct stages and optimal impedance loading for dynamic and ribbon mics to perform their best. Powered by phantom power from your interface, mixer, or preamp, the CL-1 will clean up phantom power to boost even the most sensitive ribbon microphones, letting you get the very most of them without risking causing any damage to them. The CloudLifter CL-1 uses a high-quality two-stage amplification design with a direct-coupled Class A discrete JFET circuitry. All Estonian citizens or people with valid residence and work permit, can apply for installed payments through our partners: Inbank, LHV Hire-purchase, Holm Pank Liisi Hire-purchase.

The Cloud Cloudlifter CL-1 provides up to 25dB of ultra-clean and transparent gain to complement your main mic pre. Getting into the world of recording can seem daunting, but there’s never been a better time to do it. Concerned about running that kind of cable length before a mic preamp, I decided to use a high-output vintage tube mic with the CL-1 in-line. For CL-1 owners the Cloudlifter X is a perfect companion piece, giving access to additional gain settings not offered by the CL-1, with the transformer offering sonic flavours that open up a world of possibilities!

It's marketed as "sweep- able" by adjusting the Z knob, because its frequency is dependent on the impedances of the mic and the Z circuit. Back at the mic end of the cable run, I put the Cloudlifter inline on one cable, and wired both through the JS-2 into a low-output dynamic (hello, SM57! With premium electronics, the Cloudlifter's patented discrete JFET circuitry preserves the source's natural sound while keeping the direct audio path clear of transformers, capacitors, and resistors.

The Cloudlifter CL-1 is only necessary when you can’t get your microphone loud enough on your recording when the gain knob is turned up. The difference is inaudible at comfortable listening levels, though; it measures at about 45dB lower than the level of either track, solo’d. Considering the megawatt electromagnetic assault coming from across the street the CL-2 performs very well indeed.

Putting the Cloudlifter in-line did usually result in a slightly more forward and robust sound from the microphones, but I found the difference to be fairly subtle with all the microphones I tested. Thanks to its discrete JFET circuitry, the CL-1's neutral, flat sound will help to bring out the very best of the natural character of your microphones without imparting any of its own.

And I know it sounds ridiculous to mention it as advantage but really - from privacy and security standpoint microphone that constantly captures all sounds no matter if you actually use it or not is terrible concept. This enhanced warranty is in addition to the standard Gear4music and manufacturer warranty policies, and the Gear4music terms and conditions of trade. I use dynamic microphones like the Shure SM7B and RE20 to cope better with unavoidable equipment noise and outside/traffic noise that I otherwise need a sound booth to eliminate. Explore options like active or passive models, switchable for music or voice and equipped with built-in Cloudlifter technology. Before that test, I never even considered there might be a delay using EZdrummer, but then four samples isn’t all that much, and it’s not like I’m doing a lot of technopop productions.I frequently work in Fourth Presbyterian Church which is across the street from the 100 story tall Hancock building. It would be nicer to be able to make that change permanent, since EZdrummer only works correctly on C1. Using Beyer M-260 or Royer SF-1 ribbon mics followed by 10′ to 25′ of cable to the CL-2 and then 100′ of cable to a John Hardy M-1 mic pre results in exactly zero radio interference.

I just purchased my second CL-2 and I’d purchase a third but, sorry Stephen, a friend has one and allows me to borrow it. Studiocare Professional Audio Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, registration number 778381. In another interesting situation, the Cloudlifter saw some action running a mic some 75 ft or so outside to the front of the studio for one particular vocal take. Another feature I really like in the paid version is the ability to add and delete triggers for drum beats.

I bough my C-1 to use with my SM7b after reading your review, and that pair has been in my vocal chain for the eight or nine songs I’ve written and recorded over the past 8 or so months.
