About this deal

I couldn't get the paperclip reset to work then either until I went out of range of my home wifi network. I don't believe it's a tune issue as this problem (I assume) would have manifested itself a long time ago. Anyway sometimes when shifting back to park the PRNDS lights flash seems like this is an issues that occurs for some).

So it turns that when I move near to the car the red LEDs on the fobs flash (the nearer I get the quicker they flash) then when I move away from the car they flash slower then stop when I’m about 20feet away. If you put the key down, once it's been stationary for a little while it stops 'talking' and the red tell-tale stops blinking. the technician said the motor only flashed a glow plug code and would not start the motor with the ASV ECU. I've just driven 4:45mins from Yorkshire to London and the car ran fine with no trouble at all, bar the flashing light, which kept flashing.

The brake light switch is like two in one, part does the lights and part does the ecu so it could be that. Better to be safe than sorry but engine warning lights go off after 3 engine cycles if it doesn't detect any issue. Having encountered the flashing glow plug indicator followed by a limp mode a few weeks ago, I can give a few pointers.

There is a little microswitch inside the gear selector unit that tells it when its in park - this commonly fails by intermittently sticking and results in the symptoms you are having. Think I'll be getting only another couple of years out of the car before I trade it in for something else. Another thing that may or may not be worth mentioning - this morning when I took a short journey there was a rattle present which I thought was the exhaust. Yeah those trim tools do come in handy as I didn't have any finger nails to open it with I try to keep mime clean but you know how this weather I'd lol nearly blew me away today.

To confirm its the battery you can take a multi meter to the battery posts and see what the output is without the car on. After that everything has been fine with no glitches or anything, except it ran like shit for 20 minutes after that happened.

Giving you the same quality, distance and performance of standard golf balls, these Flashing Tracer Golf Balls will illuminate on impact, then flash for five minutes, making them easy to spot (even in the bunker! On rare days it behaved perfectly but it took the pleasure out of driving the car knowing it was not perfect. The only way to confirm the real issue is to have a diagnostic check done (where the car is connected to a computer and the fault codes logged by the car's computer are read). tdi, there must be a coolant sensor on my car as GP light doesnt come on when engine is hot, any ideas were it might be located.Unfortunately, some of the controllers of this vintage I have tested will give a false alarm with a perfectly good set of plugs. Your controller will have done enough heat cycles by now for this to be a likely occurance - see if you can borrow another as fitting a replacement is dead easy. I get the same problem every now and then, I believe there is a relay on top of the fuse box can remember if it's 43 or 57 in my picture, if you unplug it and clean up the connections, refit and see if that helps? However, the only time I have heard of a flashing glowplug light, WITHOUT an engine light and with no faults; it was an EGR valve problem. I had the exact same problem on my old Mk5 DSG, the gear selector unit can only be removed from underneath - so you have to remove the exhaust to get at the bolts - also you have to remove the gear knob itself and surrounding trim.

The engine was in standard limp mode which protects the engine in certain scenarios, this resets each time the ignition is cycled.

Come join the discussion about performance, modifications, classifieds, troubleshooting, maintenance, and more for the Golf, Bora, Jetta, Touran, and Scirocco! It is plainly obvious that in the rush to meet environmental regulations VW have not tested the EGR unit adequately in realistic conditions before releasing it. Golf Simulator Forum is the center point for discussion on golf simulator products, brands, manufacturers, launch monitors and everything else related to golf simulation. With nothing else to blame the failure on, VW had little room in that case and resorted to the argument that because the car was not under warranty they were not liable for anything and 100% part + 50% labour was the best goodwill gesture they could come up with.
