Vin Jaune ‘Yellow Wine’, is a dry white wine made from late harvest Savignin in the Jura region in the east of France. The name comes from the winemaker's latest venture, the rearing of big black pigs for making his very own version of Iberico bellota ham. Wines that are produced in this way are better for the eco systems which they inhabit and better for the animals and insects that live in those eco systems.It has a depth of black fruit that is incredible alongside intense spice and a full bodied style that screams out for grilled meats of all kinds, although its status as a vegan friendly wine makes it a popular choice across the board. The whole point of Spider Pig is that it's not about the winemaker or an estate, it's about eliminating pretence, preconceived ideas and focusing on what really matters. ORANGE WINE is made from white wine grapes that are left to macerate with their skins which impart tannin, grip, structure, colour and flavour to the finished wine. We use specific Riedel glassware which we believe to be the best vessels to swirl, sniff and slurp from.
