About this deal

It uses evidence-based DBT, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and interpersonal therapy. The perspective of DBT is that one can learn from their past, but that problems are inevitably rooted in current thoughts and behaviors, and the present is where these will be addressed. I have recently completed a DBT group therapy course which I found extremely helpful in managing my BPD and PTSD.

Please know that your voice matters and your experiences can contribute to raising awareness, challenging stigmas, and ultimately improving mental health care for those who need it most. The selection of books we recommend are some of our favs when it comes to managing your kids’ emotions – as well as your own! Balancing a warm and lively approach with proven psychological insights and a collection of easy worksheets, the DBT Workbook for Kids breaks down complex topics into simple language that children of all ages can understand. Bursting with a ton of fun and straightforward exercises that inspire children to think about their feelings, this practical dialectal behavior therapy guide offers an engaging way for parents to help their kids cope with stress and navigate times of emotional difficulty.

The skills in this module are related to interacting with others, especially in difficult or potentially damaging situations. Treatment of overcontrol can be potentially beneficial for clients, both adolescent and adult, with refractory depression or anorexia nervosa. I think this book would work best for someone who suffers from extreme emotions and reactions who wants to control those, especially in the moment. It supports my conviction about the all-importance of a healthy, nurturing childhood, and how society forces itself to play catch-up later on with many destructive patterns of human behavior all because we dropped the ball when our kids were young. The example is: two people in a relationship, one is hurt/ feels rejected so tells the other one they will kill themselves. I have no choice but to just rely on books due to my health service although the book I have really has no start or finish and it's all too much for me. I recently did a DBT intensive outpatient program (IOP), but I actually started in a CBT group so I didn't do the entire course of the DBT program. This book is intended for individuals rather than therapists, although therapists may find the book to be a useful tool to recommend for their clients.
