I believe that The Faces (and another band, Free) could have been so big if ONLY they had really filled their potential. The same line-up reunited once more (minus Lane) in 1993 when Rod Stewart was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award at the Brit Awards. When it comes to the Faces, the band’s first album should be viewed through the prism of its title: FIRST STEP. Ronnie Lane made his final concert appearance in 1992 at a Ronnie Wood show with Ian McLagan on keyboards.

Ooh La La is the fourth and final studio album by the English rock band Faces , released in March 1973. That said, there were few early-'70s bands that seemed to have as much fun with their stardom as Rod Stewart and the Faces. The album kicks off with the great boogie track Bad 'n' Ruin which at a minimum will have you tapping your toes. Two tracks, "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "I Feel So Good", were recorded live at the Fillmore East, New York City, on 10 November 1970.The Rolling Stones" actually drafted Ron Wood into their band as the "Faces" dissolved when Rod left for his solo career. Whilst the track itself is nice, it doesn't present itself well on this album, indeed it is somewhat incongruous in the setting and shows the main problem with the band, that of production and the basic inability to produce themselves. You may consider Long Player as well a well-spirited, good-humoured 100% real set of back-to-basics rock as one of the biggest blah blah's you have heard for a long while. However, on the eve of the ceremony, Stewart bowed out owing to a bout of influenza and Hucknall was asked to sing in his place. In June 2013, speaking in an interview on YouTube, Kenney Jones confirmed the band's intention to reunite with Stewart for a tour in 2014.Although they enjoyed only modest success compared to contemporaries such as the Who and the Rolling Stones, the Faces have had considerable influence on latter-day rock revivalists. Propelled by a nifty little guitar from Wood and a catchy chorus, 'Bad In Ruin' was one of their better, if overlooked rockers. Among their most successful songs were "Had Me a Real Good Time", their breakthrough UK hit " Stay with Me", "Cindy Incidentally" and " Pool Hall Richard". The 45 version featured a studio take, while the album captured a live performance at New York's Fillmore East. If your a lover of Classic rock I would strongly recommend just getting all 4 "Faces" album's they are all just that good!
