About this deal

How the coffee at work is horrible… how she once threw a troublesome client file in the bin… If ever there was a bare soul, it’s hers.

Meet Emma Corrigan, a young woman with a huge heart, an irrepressible spirit, and a few little secrets: Secrets from her boyfriend: I’ve always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken. It didn’t really stand out for me as far as office romances go, but it’s a book I’d recommend if you just want to get out of a slump like I did. I thought it was also rather adorable that he immediately zeroed in on Emma when he recognised her and I loved it when there’s a Jack and Emma scene. I was intrigued by the events that had taken place in 1991 and the impact on this group of friends and the protagonist.Whelp, Emma is terrified of flying and thinking she’s going to die, she starts unspooling all of her secrets to the stranger next to her.

There are also a few heart-wrenching moments where the story becomes a bit serious, but overall it's a highly recommended, feel-good novel, which you will never want to put it down !

We believe in logistical formative alliances,’ he’s saying in a nasal, droning voice, ‘both above and below the line. Kinsella’s] dialogue is sharp, even her minor characters are well drawn, and her parody of the marketing world is very funny. Jack Harper is the big boss at Panther Cola, a multi-national cola company based in London, where Emma works. The other secondary characters aren’t very dimensional either, but as they are there for mostly comedic purposes, they don’t detract from the story. Her attempts to shore things up fail miserably, and she makes her way to the airport lounge to drown her sorrows. She had a few good ideas, but overall her contribution to the story was being a plain-Jane with a phobia of flying. Another welcome touch is that Emma’s boyfriend isn’t a complete rotter like so many of boyfriends in Chick Lit.

Over the course of the weekend, a lot of secrets come out and it is clear there is still a lot of bad blood between the six former friends. Still, I think she doesn’t deserve half the shit she received because Emma is a really nice person and I’d love to just hug her and protect her.

and when it comes to great tales, this is one readers should most definitely not keep close to the vest. conversation about airmiles and the red-eye to Washington – and I think I bluffed pretty convincingly. I found the way Kinsella wrote Emma to be well-done because Emma was someone eager to achieve more, but fumbling around with getting to the “more” part, professionally and personally. During a turbulent flight after a meeting gone wrong, Emma spills all her secrets to a stranger - but that stranger turns out to be Jack Harper ( Tyler Hoechlin), one of the cofounders of her company. He’s the suave one while Emma is the poor little employee who probably wants to bury herself in a hole and die in it whenever they interact.Although he never seems to share his own secrets, Emma can't help falling in love with Jack and his glamorous lifestyle.
