About this deal

Please note that although we do not take any payment from you until the goods are ready for dispatch, the banks and credit card companies authorise that amount to be paid for a maximum of five to seven days. Kodak ColorPlus 200 35mm film is a great budget film for analogue photographers and a best-seller around the world. For a small investment, you will get great colour reproduction, a forgiving exposure range, and good detail. Due to it's slightly narrower dynamic range when shot in high-contrast scenes, it can create images reminiscent of those made on slide film.

but, having them in some physical form in yours or other peoples hands years down the track is what brings that added value. Even with the limited amount of different color negative films available these days Kodak manages to confuse the people by offering two different “low cost” ISO 200 daylight films: the Kodak Gold 200 (which I already had a look at here and here) and this Color Plus 200. Also I don't use a scanner so the files from my digital camera always need a little help to get over the slight softness from the interpolation. PhotoBite is a team of photographers, filmmakers, photo-journalists and tech geeks with the intention to inform and inspire, providing a pathway through the creative process and ultimately furnishing image-makers with the information, knowledge and tools needed for their creative journey, be that 1 or 24 frames per second. When it comes to cloudy days, I find that Colorplus 200 gives images that look like they were made in such conditions.

While supposed to be cheaper than Kodak Gold, these days the pricing is completely bogus because everything is always in short supply, so I think I ended up paying more for this roll of Color Plus 200 than I ever did for a roll of Gold 200. Rated at 200 ISO, this film is destined to be shot in sunny, outdoor situations, or in very well-lit environments. Similarly to Fuji the advent of digital photography at the turn of the century caused significant financial problems.

In 1884, the Eastman-Strong partnership had given way to a new firm -- the Eastman Dry Plate and Film Company -- with 14 shareowners. KODAK GOLD 100 and 200 Films are low-speed color negative films that offer an outstanding combination of color saturation, fine grain, and high sharpness. In our view, it works best if your picture is taken in good lighting conditions and produces brilliant images when you want nostalgic-type results. In the smartphone era, when it seems that everyone considers themselves to be a decent photographer, there's still a way for anyone who wants to take their photography to the next level. That’s why I prefer it myself, it’s the slightly warmer counterpart to Fuji C200 – a perfectly decent, “cheap” (at least it used to be) everyday film.

Better yet, using it in bright and sunny conditions as mentioned earlier will give a vibrant and contrasty look, while retaining some of the vintage aesthetic to the colour rendition Overexposing a little can lift the shadows and boost the colours while decreasing perceived grain. In my 60 or so years of serious involvement in photography I have seen the demise of the viewfinder, the rise of the SLR and the eclipse of them all with the meteoric development of the digital camera.

In April 1880, Eastman leased the third floor of a building on State Street in Rochester, and began to manufacture dry plates for sale. So if you look at the sample photos and think that ColorPlus 200 looks and feels like a 70s or 80s throwback. Photos of the cameras and film box and digitised copies of negatives are produced with a Sony A3000 with 55mm Micro Nikkor and adapters processed in Affinity Photo. Some of the boxes were a bit damaged but the actual film was protected so the actual film was all good.
