Founded by Frank L Myers, the rum has been produced since 1879 and is made from pure Jamaican molasses at the Monymusk distillery in Southern Jamaica. Made from nine specially selected Jamaican rums, Myers’s is complex and rich yet still smooth enough for cocktails. Made from 100% pure rich, sweet and dark Jamaican molasses, Myers uses a blend of 9 specially selected rums. It is distilled at the Monymusk Distillery in Southern Jamaica in small batch copper pot stills twice and aged for 6 years in white oak barrels.It is a bold rum, big on flavour, with hints of caramel and burnt toffee almost like black treacle, but at the same time it has very little sweetness. It is then aged in white oak barrels, carefully blended, and filtered to remove color and smoothen taste. Beyond smoothness there's not much else going for it, faultless as a mixer but neat it's a bit two dimensional.
