The title for this review should probably be "Never judge a book by its cover" This book sat in my Kindle for months because the cover made me think it was 'fluffy chick lit".

Sophie white has an incredible gift at approaching difficult and sensitive topics in a serious yet hilarious way. I can only remain in a state of continuous awe at Sophie White’s ability to master a multitude of genres. Multiple societal and relevant themes are sensitively handled, with Sophie White adding a letter to all readers at the end explaining her own personal battles. White tackles the topics of new motherhood, changing friendships and mental illness amongst other remarkably well. Once more, there was that awful laughter… as the devil had somehow arrived in the room, only to whizz out of shot, a puff of smoke and silky cape, a shape disappearing through a window. Overall I enjoyed the touch influencers, podcasts and social media how it can be all glamorous and consuming while also being quite toxic.Sophie White has written an incredibly raw and real look into what it means to have - and lose - friends as a woman. It's brilliant the way the stories are weaved together and I actually found it quite an emotional read.
