About this deal

I found that using the Q-tips I wasted much more product due to the Q-tip absorbing the paste and also has a much harder time applying the cloning paste that using a small popsicle type stick. Orchids can take on interesting shapes depending on where you apply the keiki paste, so think about how you want the orchid to look once the keikis or flowers have developed. Includes everything you need for your home plant science experiment - step-by-step picture booklet with detailed instructions, stunning resealable glass vial with 8 grams of paste and several wooden cotton swab applicators for a perfect orchid accessory. please bear in mind that most nodes will produce a new flower spike so go as low to the base as possible.

Little vials can be bought really quite reasonably online, so you can start tinkering as soon as they arrive. I think I will try for both more flower spikes and keikis - on some of the plants I’ll let the flower spikes go to see what I’ll get and on the ones that are finished blooming, I’ll try for keikis. Whether death of the node was hastened by the keiki paste or it was already on its way out before the paste was applied is impossible to determine. I was kind of skeptical about if this would actually work, especially for my jade plants, and I was overjoyed to find out that it does! Whether or not this was directly related to the addition of keiki paste or not is difficult to determine. Finally, with the chopstick or cotton swab dab, a small amount of the keiki paste onto the prepared node. Southside Plants (the makers of Crazy Keiki Cloning Paste) have found nodes closer to the base of the plant are more likely to result in a keiki (baby plant), while nodes closer to the flowers are more likely to result in a new flower stalk.

TIP: It’s good practice to record in your plant journal which orchid you applied the paste and the date. Why do we put houseplants in small pots indoors, yet outdoors plants grow in huge amounts of soil no problem?New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . Essentially, you will need 1g BA/BAP in 1kg of lanolin or some kind of cream, such as wrinkle cream, as a substitute for lanolin. Simply cut into a node on your plant and spread some keiki paste on the wound, wait, and you could eventually have a new shoot forming. These 4 or 5-star reviews represent the opinions of the individuals who posted them and do not reflect the views of Etsy.

If I have a flower spike going from keiki paste, I trim off the top 1/3 of that growth and reapply keiki paste over the whole thing.

Once you remove the plantlet, you can put it in slightly moist Sphagnum Moss or your medium of choice and grow it as you would grow any other orchid. I was waiting to review this until I could really vouch for it and at this point I'm absolutely in love and will definitely but more whem I run out.
