About this deal

The battery of increased capacity provides a long-term autonomous work of the E Reader, and the wide side field makes it possible to comfortably hold the device with one hand while reading. Writing is smooth and continuous with little latency (lag), which makes it great for notetaking; and sorting through files, books, or notes is easy thanks to its intuitive interface. Anecdotally, after four days' worth of light testing with some reading, sketching, and taking notes, the 3,000mAh Note Air 2 still had 58% of its battery left.

And while you can download audiobooks and podcasts to the Note Air 2 Plus, it makes little sense to use it for audio files instead of your phone. Das Gerät an sich ist gut bedienbar (ja, es ist langsamer als ein normales Tablet, aber es ist auch ein e-Ink Display und auch augenschonende und lange Betriebszeit optimiert). Note that there’s no fast-charging or wireless charging facility here; but since the device powers up so quickly, and USB-C chargers are so readily available, this was no cause for concern. While E Ink displays are made to look like paper, something the anti-glare screen on the Note Air 2 achieves, this device is also made to feel like paper. As someone who struggles to look at screens for too long a period, it was never glaring and ideal to use in darker environments. A built-in Wi-Fi module allows you to use different services and Bluetooth makes it possible to connect a variety of external accessories. The Flicker-Free technology significantly reduces discomfort and eye fatigue and reduces the likelihood of headaches caused by prolonged use of the E reader. It balances decently well in one hand, but is a bit too heavy to hold like that for extended periods.

A higher DPI figure will see the mouse cursor travel a greater distance from the same wrist movement, making it very useful for competitive gaming.I contacted Boox directly to see if I can help or to get it fixed, as it is under a 12 month warranty, with the picture attached. Now, E Ink doesn't transition from one frame to another smoothly, it stutters a bit, so this tab isn't a good option for moving content like movies or games. Onto battery life: you'll be hard-pressed to kill the Note Air 2 Plus in a day or two, even with heavy use. By its nature, though, an e-ink tablet isn’t going to be used for rich content like video, so 64GB goes a long way when used for documents and audio files. There's only one button on this device, and only one port: a Power button and a USB-C port, both on the left side along with the underwhelming single speaker.

As well as offering protection, the case can also be used to prop up the e-reader, which proved rather handy for reading on the train. com and PC Magazine are among the federally registered trademarks of Ziff Davis and may not be used by third parties without explicit permission. This great battery life is one of the main reasons for picking up the Plus over the vanilla 3000mAh Note Air 2 version.I absolutely love this device - the other users are right that it's a nuanced experience that may not be to the satisfaction of some, but if you are willing to put in the work to understand what this can do, you'll be rewarded. Onyx isn't stopping at tablets; it makes an ePaper monitor too, and its largest tablet, the Max Lumi 2 features a giant 13. At the time of its release, this was the highest-spec e-ink tablet (and it is still not too shabby today).

Bested only by the Kindle Scribe when it comes to sharpness, I haven’t got any complaints when it comes to the Note Air 2 Plus’s screen quality. Dial up the backlight, and things get a bit more traditionally screen-like, albeit still monochrome. There are no LEDs here, but you can alter screen brightness from the pull-down menu, choosing between yellow or blue light and dimming options, which I found worked great in most environments. In addition, the clip-on mechanism meant that it was never at risk of falling off or becoming displaced, unlike the case on the Huawei MatePad Paper. It isn’t quite going to display A4 documents in their native size, but it does show them big enough to both read and edit comfortably. But it also plays back audiobooks and music, hooks up to a Bluetooth keyboard and works as an eye-friendly E Ink document editor in Google Docs, and gives you maximum control over everything from the screen refresh rate to the hue of the light. The game is afoot with e-ink tablets tumbling onto the scene these last couple of years, and the latest to land at Tech Advisor for review is the Boox Note Air 2 Plus from Onyx.
