This is a lower-calorie diet with a difference - it's based on hunger-satisfying portions of delicious, lower-calorie dishes that taste amazing. It might seem a little weird to add a cookery book to "favourites" and "would read again" but this is for sure one of my favorite books to DATE. Many thanks to the chef/author for including so many "comfort" dishes that would normally be no go for dieters. The recipes are easy to follow, but don't expect them to be quick to execute, quite a few of them require quite a bit of preparation, but as most dishes are well suited for freezing I don't think that is a problem. It's hard to find low calorie diet books that cater to vegetarian diets as well, and then this book came along.

I like Tom and his usually unpretentious recipes, we watched the accompanying TV programme and bought the book, as, for health reasons, I need some food with flavour, as chemotherapy has numbed mine, but agave and yuzo! The focus is on the food that we can and should be eating to lose weight, which is easy to make and won't make you feel as though you are missing out . So I've developed lots of tasty and satisfying recipes that people will love to cook and eat , but that will also help them lose weight . I don't know how Tom does it but it's incredible, as snacking between meals is often the reason why most diets don't work.

However I did find the vast majority of them in my local supermarket in areas on aisles I've never really visited before. The focus is on the food that we can and should be eating to lose weight, which is easy to make and won't make you feel as though you are missing out. As Tom 'It's impossible to stick to a diet if the food you're expected to eat is boring and doesn't fill you up.I have currently cooked around 10 recipes from this book, completely out of my comfort zone and it has been a success in almost all cases. I've skimmed the kindle version i bought for a quick overview and like this very sensible approach to trying to lose weight but without sacrificing flavour, and still having a reasonable size portion. As Tom says: `It's impossible to stick to a diet if the food you're expected to eat is boring and doesn't fill you up. Have recently purchased a few 'healthier' eating books and after trying a good few recipes out, this book (along with his Lose Weigh Get Fit) is in my opinion the best.
