Drawing the collection to a close is the aptly titled ‘America’, which gave Neil Diamond his third Top 10 single in the US from the soundtrack of his film ‘The Jazz Singer’. High Tempo Dance and Hi-NRG found mainstream success in the mid-80s with floor-fillers from Evelyn Thomas, Miquel Brown, Man 2 Man, Boys Town Gang and Patrick Cowley feat. My friends and I (all in our 30's so our musical experiences really started in the 1980's) sat down one day and listed all the songs we liked from the 80's. We include synth-pop from Arcadia, Howard Jones, and Peter Schilling with ‘Major Tom (Coming Home)’, which was recently rediscovered as the opening theme to ‘Deutschland 83, 86 and 89’.
