i could connect my own personal experiences with this poetry, and i think that is so important for poetry reading and writing. thank you to my dear and lovely friend lydia for not only introducing me to this poetry book, but introducing me to the world of jessica jocelyn and her wonderful words. The poetry in this book was very well written and emotionally charged as I could feel it when I read it. While I greatly respect that decision, I feel like it made it harder for me to connect to what the author was trying to portray. I felt like we didn't stay within a set of emotions long enough for them to be as impactful as they were meant to be.
