About this deal

A 2A charger is supplied along with a 30-litre collection box, a two-part plastic effort rather than the bag of the WG779E.2. Meanwhile, the mower has a choice of just three cutting heights: 30mm, 50mm and 70mm.

The Worx WG779E.2 34cm lawnmower uses two 2.0Ah 20V batteries simultaneously for extra power and runtime. With intellicut technology, the mower adjusts its speed and power to grass condition therefore providing constant cutting power. Six height settings give you the cut you want, all with the ease of a single lever cutting depth adjustment. Intellicut technology adjusts speed automatically with different grass conditions so it keeps consistent cutting efficiency in dense grass.Do you like a striped lawn? Well the WORX does have a roller at the rear that gives that lovely striped look to your lawn. The roller also has suspension allowing it to adapt better to the contours of your lawn. This is another advantage over the Flymo 300 – if you like striped lawns that is!

When mowing, the WG779E performed excellently on my medium-sized garden, its cut-to-edge design allowing me to get closer to fences without digging out my strimmer afterwards.

You can easily change the cutting height from two centimetres up to seven centimetres, using a handle by the front wheels. My lawn was a little overgrown before the first use, so to avoid battling with long grass, I set the mower to it's highest length to trim it ahead of trying a lower grade. This was unnecessary based on use since – the mower makes light work of even dense couch grass and weeds that have been left to run wild. The WG779E.2 is fitted with a dual battery system, using two 20V 2Ah lithium batteries to produce 40V of cutting power. This translates to around 30 minutes of runtime, making the for smaller gardens with lawns up to 200m2, while there is a two hour charge time, which is on the longer side. But where power is concerned, there’s nothing quite as impressive as the super-fast dual charger that’s included in the box. With a maximum charge time of just one hour, no time is wasted. Once the height has been reduced to 30mm it is already at the maximum permitted height for a further reduction down to 20mm. So you either cut it again immediately – which also breaks the rule as it is like going from the height it was at before the reduction to 30mm all the way down to 20mm but in just one cut – or you wait until it has grown higher than 30mm when it is too long to reduce it to 20mm anyway! This is a great selling point for many UK buyers, as weather conditions mean we often need to leave the grass to grow longer before its suitable to mow it. Knowing this mower handles longer grass with ease is a good sign for any buyer based in the UK.

Also, there is absolute convenience working with this machine because you won’t be struggling with a heavy mower. It is environmental-friendly, quieter, and safer with low maintenance costs. With a properly-positioned large central handle, you won’t have issues carrying this 13kg lawnmower to the shed or garage. Safety Features Like many cordless lawn mowers, the WORX WG779E.2 is powered by two Lithium-ion batteries (40V in total) and electrical motor which will charge in around 2 hours. The batteries are removed from the mower for charging and storage. The WORX WG734E.1 is certainly a lawn mower that is a cut above the rest, thanks to the innovative addition of intellicut technology, this product makes light work of even the most dense lawns. All of this without compromising on power, and in this modern life, who’s really got time for anything but? You’re getting unrivalled power as a result of the 2 x 4.0Ah batteries so you can feel confident that this tool will meet and exceed your expectations. If all of that wasn’t enough, the fast charger that is included in the box means that you won’t be waiting around to get to work – it’ll charge in just 60 minutes! As someone who has tested and reviewed many different lawn mowers, I was eager to get the WORX WG779E.2 cordless mower out on the lawn. This is one of the top-selling cordless models in the UK, but I wanted to see for myself just how well it performed. The WORX WG743E.1 is an excellent option if you’re looking for a diverse lawn mower, and this is all thanks to the variable height adjustments that it offers. This again does not necessarily put it ahead of competitors but it’s good that WORX have taken advantage of what is clearly the most effective cutting system in the market. As with all smaller cordless lawn mowers the grass box is not going to hold as much grass cuttings as its larger counterparts, however 30 litres is a comparable for a mower of this size. 30 Litres allows longer periods of use without needing to empty grass clippings as often.

Furthermore, the WORX WG743E.1 boasts an edging ability that truly is second to none – never again will you have portions of uncut grass around the perimeter of the lawn. Having the choice to go between various heights is big advantage for people looking to achieve a healthy and vibrant lawn, as you can easily adjust the heights to accommodate the lawn’s condition throughout the year, whether it’s short, long, or somewhere in-between. UsabilityThis is a compact mower for small gardens. It’s only 33cm wide and around 1.2m long when fully assembled with the handle attached. It’s powered by a single 20V, 4.0A battery, which might lead you to suspect that it’s going to be a weedy effort that will choke up at its first bite of grass. However, Worx has used an energy-efficient brushless motor, which should – theoretically – increase both its cutting power and runtime. For example, the easy-start feature is far more preferable to the pulling/recoil method of the petrol lawn mower which, if you’ve ever used you will know, can be a nightmare and often painful to start. The easy-on safety switch works like a charm. WORX WG743E.1 User Manual If you’re looking for a cordless lawn mower that offers the ability to create stripes on the lawn then the WORX WG743E.1, unfortunately, won’t cut it. However, if this is the only downfall, we’re confident that it isn’t the end of the world. The 30cm cutting width isn’t huge, so this mower is at its best on smaller lawns and preferably well-treated flat ones, as a lot of lumps and divots can affect the regularity of the cut. Better still, the batteries are part of the Powershare range from WORX, being interchangeable with a range of compatible cordless power tools. If you are thinking of buying other cordless garden or power tools, this is a great opportunity to save some money and extend the runtime of your various tools.
