About this deal

Apply adhesive to one surface. Press surfaces together within 15 seconds. Use of clamp or other holding device is not necessary Covering large areas of heat sensitive materials (like polystyrene) use a Tecbond spray grade applied via a Tec spray glue gun Watch our Tecbond spray adhesive video With everything now prepared it’s time to apply some glue. Before applying the glue straight on to any surfaces it’s a good idea to do a test first. Before use: Remember, always read the manual before using a glue gun for the first time. Then, inspect the casing and plug wiring for damage before plugging it in. You should put on heat-resistant work gloves and safety goggles too, and place somecardboard or newspaper underneath the gun to protect your worktop.

Whether you need to repair a broken piece of furniture, you want to add jewels to a plain headband, or the strap to your favourite leather bag is falling off – a glue gun is the perfect tool to help.Essentially, standard glue guns come in two different formats; high temperature hot melt and low temperature cool melt. A stand can come in handy, as can on/off switches and dual temperature control. Put some real thought into what you’ll require for the project or projects you have in mind. How We Selected Pop the gun upright on the stand that was provided and then turn it off at the mains and (wearing gloves as the nozzle is hot), wipe it over with a paper towel to remove any and all surface glue. To ensure this happens the glue gun needs to be plugged into the mains and switched on, if it has a power switch, some just rely on the mains supply.

Low melt glue guns are safe and easy to use. They carry a reduced risk of burns due to a lower temperature and are commonly used for bonding heat sensitive materials, arts and crafts and schools. We have even seen a customer apply a low melt adhesive ( Tecbond LM44/12) directly to an inflated balloon without the balloon popping! Down side: restricted glue formulations. If you are using a high temperature, hot melt gun or a heavy duty gun then this can take anywhere from 5 – 8 minutes.

What Different Types of Glue Gun are There?

Low melt glue guns are safe and easy to use. Low melt glue guns reduced risk of burns due to the adhesive being applied at a lower temperature and are commonly used for bonding heat-sensitive materials like polystyrene which a hot melt adhesive would melt! Also used extensively in arts and crafts and schools.
