About this deal

It’s better indoors, too. Though all phone cameras struggle with low-light conditions to some degree, budget and mid-range handsets suffer the most. Still, once again, the Honor 9X Pro has the upper hand: images are considerably less noisy, less blurry and have more detail. The low-light photos are satisfying with good color saturation, balanced exposure, and gentle noise reduction. There is enough detail, though we've seen Huawei and Honor phones do a bit better. The Honor 9X Pro can record in 1080p resolution with its main and ultra-wide-angle snappers though 60fps mode is available only with the primary camera. There is electronic stabilization and it is always-on.

Chipset: Kirin 810: octa-core CPU (2x2.27 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6x1.88 GHz Cortex-A55); Mali-G52 MP6 GPU. Both the main and ultra-wide camera deliver good dynamic range, nice contrast, no visible noise, and punchy colors. The picture is quite soft though and the resolved detail is average at best. This, to put it mildly, is unfortunate. Because if this stylish smartphone had all the trappings you’d expect software wise, it would surely get our seal of approval. As it is though, it’s impossible to recommend. Honor 9X Pro review: What you need to know Though this HONOR 9X Pro is a Chinese version model, the setting up process is generally the same. But I need the GMS! I searched on the Internet and finally I found the way! It's quite easy if you follow up my steps! Here's a glimpse of how the Honor 9X Pro compares to rivals in our Video compare tool. Head over there for the complete comparison. The 8MP ultrawide photos are okay, but nothing special. The resolved detail is modest at best, the corners are pretty soft because of automatic lens correction and the dynamic range is rather low. Still, those are presentable enough for the social networks. The 9X only has one set of internal specs options: a Kirin 710 processor, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It means that the 9X isn’t a powerhouse phone, but that’s still enough for everyday use and then some. Portrait mode is available. You can turn the blur on and off; there's also beautification (a 0-10 setting). The subject separation is mostly hit and miss though, and we can't recommend using this mode. The Honor 9X Pro is powered by the 2.27GHz octa-core Kirin 810 processor, which is interesting because it’s not one we’ve tested before. That’s not as weird as it sounds. Kirin is also owned by Huawei, so the chips typically only appear in the company’s own handsets, be they Huawei- or Honor-branded.

The 48MP AI photos are with exceptional quality and excellent detail. If you downscale these to 12MP - they are far superior in detail to the regular 12MP snaps. Indeed, if per-pixel quality is of great importance, then you should try this 48MP AI UC mode. There are obvious weaknesses with the Honor 9X, including a camera that falls flat in low light and just so-so performance.. However, the large notchless display, good battery life and solid camera performance (in normal lighting conditions) make this one of the better Android values we’ve tested.

Finally, the electronic stabilization is always-on and does a very good job. We would appreciate an option to turn it off though. Pro mode is available via the mode selector, and there you can adjust the parameters yourself - ISO (50 to 102,400), shutter speed (1/4000s to 30s), exposure compensation (-4 to +4EV in 1/3 stop increments), and white balance (presets and light temperature). If you can stretch to a Pixel 3a or Pixel 3a XL, you’re probably better off doing so. Aside from offering better cameras than the Honor 9X, these can use Android 10, are available in the US and aren’t at risk from suddenly losing out on Google’s support due to international politics. But if you want a larger display for less money, the Honor 9X is worth a look. For an affordable smartphone, the Honor 9X has a big screen. It’s a 6.6-inch display, which is a little on the large side for a smartphone, so unless you have rather big hands it may be hard for you to properly use the device. B1 (2100) , B3 (1800) , B5 (850) , B8 (900) , B38 (TDD 2600) , B39 (TDD 1900) , B40 (TDD 2300) , B41 (TDD 2500)

Honor 9X Pro mobile was launched in July 2019. The phone comes with a 6.59-inch touchscreen display offering a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels at a pixel density of 391 pixels per inch (ppi) and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Honor 9X Pro is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 810 processor. It comes with 6GB of RAM. The Honor 9X Pro runs Android Pie and is powered by a 4000mAh battery. The two phones fare well with normal selfie shots. The Pixel 3a does its normal post-processing magic and gives me a healthy looking skin color while the Honor 9X shows my face in its more natural state. The scene behind me looks much better on the Pixel, though, which helps sway my opinion in its favor in this case Trying out Asphalt 9: Legends was not as bad as you may think. Sure, there’s a graphical downgrade that makes all the car models look a bit jagged around the edges, but the game still runs smooth and responds to the touch controls without delay. The 9X managed to stay pretty cool during my play session, too, despite the heavy processing that would have been going on.

Yes, if you can find an APK file for the app you want to install you can potentially sideload it – as indeed we had to with our regular benchmarking tests above – but this is risky and a real pain. It seems unlikely anyone would knowingly buy a phone without the Google Play Store in 2020, unless it happens to have Apple branding. This is the follow up to the rather good Honor 9X. As you might expect, the word Pro means it comes with more processing grunt, with the Kirin 710 processor subbed out for a 2.27GHz octa-core Kirin 810. The 6GB RAM remains the same but there’s also a generous 256GB of internal storage, which itself can be expanded via microSD cards.

Furthermore, the aspect ratio of the Honor 9X Pro is 19.5:9 so that you can enjoy vivid and crystal clear visuals while watching videos, playing games, or streaming movies online..Just next to the fingerprint sensor is the tri-lens camera array. It’s housed in a bump, but it’s a small bump compared to similar mounts on other phones, and wasn’t as inconvenient as a result. Rear camera: Primary - 48MP, 27mm, f/1.8; PDAF; Ultrawide - 8MP, 13mm, f/2.4; Depth sensor - 2MP. Video recording up to 1080p@30fps. The Honor 9X Pro has the same camera setup as its predecessor, where the main 48-megapixel f/1.8 sensor is supported by two extra lenses – an 8-megapixel f/2.4 wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel f/2.4 depth sensor. The two phones are more evenly matched in this wide open scene with a mix of dark and bright spots, but once again the Pixel 3a brings out the details and color much more than the 9X achieves, with the Honor also capturing large flares from the bright spotlights illuminating the square in front of Kings Cross Station.
