About this deal

One of the primary objectives FujiFilm set out to achieve in this series was to make the camera appealing to SLR users looking for an affordable and versatile digital alternative. They've achieved this, not just in the shape and build of the camera housing, but also in the layout of the controls. FujiFilm has always scored highly when it comes to intuitive design and the S5600 is no exception.

Fujifilm FinePix S5200 / S5600 Zoom - Digital Photography Review

Overall picture quality is very good, although unusually for a Fujifilm camera I found the colours in standard mode to be a bit under-saturated, and the auto white balance produced a somewhat cold appearance in bright sunlight. The only real problem with image quality is something that has plagued just about every Fuji camera I’ve ever seen: massive purple fringing along the left-hand edge of every bright highlight. It is annoying, and robs the S5600 of the superb image quality of which it is otherwise capable. LCD monitor: 1.8?, aspect ratio 4:3, approx. 115,000 pixels TFT colour LCD monitor. Approx. 100% coverageThe lens on the S5600 is much better than on its predecessor the S5500, and produces no distortion at the widest setting. Although the S5600 is happy shooting interiors thanks to the impressive ISO range, AF-assist lamp and powerful flash, it's perhaps best suited for outdoor photography where users can really take advantage of its strong but lightweight body, range of shooting modes and long-range zoom lens. The camera's features were fairly impressive at launch including a 10x optical zoom, a 5.1-megapixel CCD imaging sensor as well as a host of manual settings. At 800 ISO there is some image noise starting to appear in the darker areas, and some fine detail has been lost to the noise reduction system, but the results are still extremely good. Adrian Clarke from Fujifilm comments: ?We feel we?ve made just the right adjustments with the S5600 Zoom to build upon the huge success of its predecessors without compromising a winning formula.?Complete with an unrivalled sensitivity range from ISO 64 to ISO 1600, the camera makes it possible to achieve crisp photographs with minimal noise, even in very low light conditions. The Anti-Blur Mode, which exploits the camera’s exceptional ISO capabilities, reduces blurring caused by movement of the user, as well as movement blur caused by the subject, making it much more effective than image stabilisation technology alone. Couple this with good to above-average imaging results and excellent value for money, and this capable camera is a tempting prospect for those looking for an affordable SLR-style digital super zoom. Tim McCann A new 5MP fifth-generation Super CCD HR sensor is integrated into the S5600, while Fujifilm’s new Real Photo Technology promises detailed and clear pictures in varied lighting conditions. Photography functions: High-speed shooting, best framing, post shot assist window, frame no. memory Overall, I've found that the Finepix S5600 takes beautiful portraits and can produce very nice macro shots. However, shots taken at medium and long range are not as sharp as they could be and at times the standard colour setting produces results that appear a little drab, although a chrome setting is provided and produces very vivid colours. The sharpness issue is easily corrected: by loading images into The Gimp and adding a slight sharpening filter I've managed to produce some striking landscape shots. This is just the digital equivalent of retouching negatives so I don't count this as cheating. In fact, learning how to Photoshop your pictures should be considered part and parcel of learning more about photography in the digital age.

Fujifilm FinePix S5200 - Wikipedia

Unusually for a Fujifilm camera, colours are slightly under-saturated in the standard shooting mode, although the level of detail is very good. Incorporating a 10x optical zoom, the FinePix S5600 is the third mini-SLR styled addition to the FinePix range following the S5000 and S5500.The manual is reasonably straightforward to follow though the camera itself is easy enough to use straight from the box. The more specialised features will be absorbed as you go on. This article needs additional citations for verification. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources.
