Carefully mapped to the National Curriculum for Years 3-6, it’s ideal for closing the learning gap and helping pupils to accelerate their progress. Giving feedback on lots of quality writing practice invariably leads to more work for already busy teachers.

Once more, the issue rests with teacher knowledge and confidence in the teaching of grammar for writing. But as a profession we must think harder about the value of teaching the nature of sentences, how to manipulate them and evaluate them in light of writing purposes and how to choose words confidently.
