Its mission: to attack the Allied convoys crossing the ocean between the United States and Great Britain with oil, food and other supplies. As of posting, the Atlantis Bismarck is truly a model kit bargain in the world of runaway 2022 inflation. In the late 1970’s, they again chose this size for a new line of ship models that would be much easier to build with intricate details. Since the kit contains the finished plastic hull , the construction period is substantially shortened. After a further six months of preparations and sea exercises, Bismarck headed into the North Atlantic, and on 18 May 1941 Operation Rheinübung (Rhine Exercise) began.

This kit comes with a series of templates that are led against the hull and used for tracing and cutting out sections for inlays, painting etc. Separate boats, anchors, and lifeboat davits demonstrate the level of detail engineered into this kit. There were so many detail parts on the standard-sized mold blocks intended for the kit to fit in a standard box that Monogram had to engineer this "outrigger" with remaining guns and upperworks deck piece. Surface preparation will be one of the most important things when it comes to building this model, as you won’t want any planking strakes to be seen when painted. We believe model making is not just a pastime, but also an experience to share with friends, siblings, children and grandchildren.As with the model of the Titanic which I still working on, I will be looking forward to starting the Battleship Bismarck.
