Thank you NetGalley, Cecelia Ahern, and HarperCollins UK for allowing me to read an advanced copy of In a Thousand Different Ways. In this sense of being different, Alice has much in common with many of Cecelia Ahern’s other often quirky characters. I've yet to read a book by this author which I enjoyed as much as PS I Love You, but this one will certainly stick in my memories. I was waiting for critical events to happen - but they never did except for when Ollie gets released from Prison and she is forced to go out.

An interesting fictional recount of how someone with synesthesia may see life and the world around them. It’s been quite a while since a book brought me to tears, let alone left me with an ache in my heart and tears of joy tracing my cheeks. At the age of 19 I experienced a difficult time in my life, and as I have done since childhood and throughout my teenage years, I turned to writing to process my feelings. She was effectively a carer to her mother and younger brother, Ollie, which was really too much to expect of a young girl.

Alice Kelly is eight when she notices everyone has a color, it displays what the person is feeling, their mood and much more. An mehreren Stellen hab ich mitgelitten mit ihr - schlussendlich aber hat Alice ihr Leben ziemlich gut gemeistert.I have cried twice reading a book in my lifetime of thousands and the ending of this had tears running down my cheeks. Ahern tackles many different scenarios in the book, so readers can fully appreciate what life would be like. Every person can almost be seen (their mood anyway) without even knowing them and she can see mods transfer from one person to another. It didn't make sense to me that someone with sensory/psychic sensitivities would not recognize and attempt to honour another human's needs.
