About this deal

The big differences are that the Ghost has a combination of DNA Loft and BioMogo in its midsole while the Glycerin has a full DNA Loft midsole and the Glycerin has a softer, more comfortable upper than the Ghost. Despite the weird looks, Brooks regained the absolute plush comfort in the 16th, 17th, and now the 18th iteration. Brooks Running is undoubtedly among the most respected brands out there regarding daily trainers and stability models. The Glycerin 19—available in both GTS (go-to-support)—is no exception and embodies Brooks’s DNA perfectly. Those who tried the 19 had only good things to report! You don’t need to worry about the midsole breaking down prematurely because you don’t live in an anaerobic landfill (hopefully)! The BioMoGo technology is not patented because Brooks wants other companies to be more environmentally friendly. Best use for Brook Glycerin 18 The updated design of the foam does cut down on some of the weight and offers a slightly softer ride. However, the difference during side-by-side runs, has been negligible.

If you want a shoe that won’t cause your feet any problems, these are the move. Brooks’ logo is Run Happy; the Glycerins make that a reality. The Glycerin 19 rides smooth, really smooth. It’s one of the smoothest-riding, max-cushioned trainers on the market due to its single density midsole and its outsole configuration. While the standard Glycerin model is a maximum-cushioned, neutral trainer, the Brooks Glycerin GTS 19 and 20 (newly released in July 2022) are classed as stability trainers. Stability running shoes such as these are ideal for runners with overpronation, who need more ankle support and a less flexible sole. The Glycerin may be sleek, but it is certainly heavy-duty. All the materials in the shoe are very high quality and durable. The stretch mesh upper feels and looks pretty nice too. No hot spots, no pressure points whatsoever, and I think it can accommodate a large number of foot types, from wide to narrow(ish). It’s a simple, yet clean-looking shoe that has gradually dropped the gaudy, overlay-happy BS of previous models. Everyone’s all about midsoles and plates nowadays, but I appreciate a good, clean upper.

This material allows supreme breathability and flexibility. With this adaptability, the shoe performs very well on almost all the runs they were put through. The Brooks Glycerin 18 is a dependable, easy riding running shoe that we think is perfect for the bulk of your training miles. As for its performance, I see the Glycerin 18 as a daily trainer with ample cushioning for everyday running or long slow distance runs. I found the DNA Loft midsole to run on the firmer side of the spectrum rather than being plush. I think the cushioning could be improved to better match the premium feel of the upper material, but overall the cushioning did allow for a smooth and consistent stride. I have never run in a more comfortable shoe, and I cannot fathom that a more comfortable shoe exists on the market. An issue with the traction is that the Glycerin has small grooves in the outsole which collect small pebbles. This decreases the lifespan of the outsole, disrupts the traction slightly, and just feels gross underfoot. This is only a small gripe since the pebbles it collects are so small. Guaranteed durability In contrast, the 16 is suitable for heavier users, but may weigh down high-mileages runners. Alternative Road Running Shoes
